With the park in excellent condition despite the pouring rain, the Kip got of to a disastrous start being 3 - 0 down after only 20 minutes due to sloppy defending.  The Uni struck again 10 minutes before half time, but the Kip we're giving a lifeline when Shuggy McDermott struck just on the half time whistle when he managed to control and knock in a cross - Half-Time 4-1.

Kip came out with all guns blazing in the second half and got the early goal they were looking for when McConnachie swept in a shot after a corner wasn't cleared.  The Kip were pushing forward more and more to get back into this game and with the ball out on the right flank, Cassidy swung over a dangerous cross which crept in at the back post, 4 - 3 and the Kip are back in the game.  With the ref saying there was 11 minutes left on the clock, Strathclyde broke away and with they're only effort in the second half went further ahead with the Kip defence screaming at the ref that it was offside.   Surely now the Uni have the points in the bag, but with the Kip never say die attitude, Scott Wilson broke down the left from the half way line, evading 2 challenges and slide the ball under the advancing keeper "Thierry Henry" style as he put it, 5 - 4.  By now the Kip were throwing everything at the Uni goal and in the dying seconds, the ball broke to Cassidy about the penalty spot, he managed to control it, strike a shot which the keeper managed to scoop out only for Gault to pounce and knock the ball into the empty net with his knee cap.  5 - 5, what a come back and the Kip players celebrated with a pile on.  There was barely time to re-start the match, and the game ended in a draw.

A superb team performance by everyone from the Kip who thoroughly deserved the point that looked a lost cause, which keeps them in the hunt for the fight for promotion.
